We had the great pleasure of seeing this movie at the new Translux Dreamcatcher theater in Española, New Mexico -- which means that we viewed it on a large, unobstructed screen with glorious full sound. Exactly the way you'd like to see this great piece of entertainment! Can't think of when we've had more fun at a movie. |

| The cast of a 1970's "Star Trek"-like television series make their living by making appearances before crowds of devotees, an occupation that has become a little stale for each of them. Commander Peter Quincy Taggart, played by Tim Allen, has reached the bottom of the barrel as far as his television crew is concerned. (Had he been found murdered, this could have been the beginning of a classic who-done-it with his crew members all equally suspected.) Things start to get interesting when refugees from another planet ask for help to battle a monster who has destroyed their civilization, and commander and crew find themselves in a perfect replica of their own TV spaceship hurtling through space! ...Highly recommended. | |

WINONA RYDER, ANGELINA JOLIE, CLEA DUVALL, BRITTANY MURPHY, VANESSA REDGRAVE, WHOOPI GOLDBERG Fresh out of high school graduation in 1967, Susanna Kaysen (played by Winona Ryder) is unable to deal with her emotions, and signs herself into a mental institution for troubled young women. There she eventually becomes part of a community of her peers, including provocative and daring Lisa (Angelina Jolie, who happens to be Jon Voigt’s daughter). A short stay turns into 18 productive months. .....By the time the movie was over I felt I had been in therapy, too! Maybe more of a women’s movie – I should have taken a girlfriend instead of a husband. Definitely worth seeing. (And, yes, I plan to read the book now...it's autobiographical, I'm told.)
