There is lots of adventure and action here, but let's make it clear right now that those of you who insist that things "make sense" will have a difficult time with this film. On the other hand, if you don't mind magic tricks (maybe even read a little Carlos Castaneda once upon a time) and are willing to let your mind float, you'll enjoy going along for the ride! Bridget Fonda is very classy as Myra Shumway, on the run from her dastardly fiance, Cliff Wyatt (D.W. Moffett), who has her tailed by Alex Ross (played by a rather seedy-but-attractive Russell Crowe). Myra goes on a quest to find out the recipe for a mysterious, fabled elixir from an old Mayan woman (Euva Anderson) that "makes you see yourself as you really are." Paul Rodriguez, as Diego, has some tasty little scenes (the dog knows what I mean).
